We at St. Ansgar have had saddles shipped in that came with the saddle horn protruding from the box, all gouged up, and know the disappointment in receiving a saddle already damaged. We don't want our customers to be disappointed, so we guarantee all our saddles will be be shipping with the utmost care of packaging in a heavy, sturdy box.
We've shipped a few saddles since opening St. Ansgar Saddle, and have learned quite a bit. I prefer to ship UPS and send everything with a tracking number, and insured. It will be packed carefully in a sturdy box.
Shipping within the continental U.S. is really quite reasonable:
Insurance is the main reason the price increases on the more expensive (over $700) saddles, but it's something that provides a lot of "peace of mind" If a saddle doesn't fit your horse, you can return it for a full refund, minus any shipping, but this must be done within 14 days of receipt, and the saddle must be in the same condition as when it was sent. So far we've sent saddles to all corners or the U.S., with no problems, but are aware that it can happen.
